Paper Bentonite

Bentonite is used in the paper industry as a retention agent and as a coating agent to improve the performance of paper products. Bentonite has a high cation exchange capacity, which makes it useful for various applications, including paper making.

As a retention agent, bentonite is added to paper pulp to improve its ability to retain fine particles, such as filler materials, dyes, and pigments. This improves the quality of paper and also reduces the amount of raw materials needed to produce a given paper grade.

Bentonite used as a coating agent in production of coated papers. The coating process involves applying a layer of bentonite to the paper surface to improve its printing properties, such as ink absorbency, print sharpness, and color reproduction.

It is used as a filler in papermaking. It can be added to the pulp to increase the bulk and opacity of the paper. This can result in a more substantial paper product that is more opaque and has a higher quality feel.

Also, Bentonite is used as a binding agent in papermaking. It can help to hold the fibers and fillers together, resulting in a stronger, more durable final product.
